Glos is a fifteen year veteran of the trade show and media
industry. Having been born and raised in New York City, a
graduate of Columbia University, Alec as he is known to his
friends, started working in the magazine publishing industry
selling advertising during his last year of university. Having
seen the opportunity for success in both publishing and trade
exhibitions, in 1987 he launched his first trade show company
designed to produce events for the growing consumer PC marketplace.
By 1993 the company produced over thirty events a year throughout
North America and Europe and won praise for producing Germany’s
third largest IT event.
Having successfully sold the company to an
international publishing group, Alec focused his attention
on developing a consultancy and events business in the new
emerging markets of Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union.
He attracted major international clients to this firm, including
Nike, Citigroup and Tishman Construction. Having launched
five new events for the trade show company, he successfully
sold the business to ITE Group in 1998.
Having developed a network of other show
and media professionals like him, Alec founded I2i with the
goal of establishing a true global team of event and media
professionals capable of bringing new ideas to an industry
that had not seen dramatic innovation for years. I2i Media
focuses on developing new event cultures from tarnished brands,
looking for innovation in face to face information exchange,
making events the most dynamic they can be.
